COUPLE’S WEDDING STORY:
Sam and I met through mutual friends about 5 years ago but never connected romantically.
We both ended serious relationships at the end of 2018 and reconnected early in 2019 because Sam “slid into my DMs” on Instagram! He relentlessly commented on my photos and stories for 6 weeks before I understood that he was flirting!
He finally asked me out and on our first date I knew he was the one! I called my mom and best friend on the way home from the date and I told them that I was marrying him. We dated a little over one year before he proposed. Sam popped the question in our pajamas on Saturday, May 9 2020 in our living room. I was totally shocked! I knew it was happening soon, but never expected to be in my pajamas, hah! We called just our immediate family and best friends then stayed up the whole night laughing!
The next day, Mother’s Day, we got to see my Nana who had gotten very sick and due to the COVID-19 pandemic our family made the decision to move her home with my uncles. We got to share our joy with her before she sadly passed away 2 days later. After her passing we decided that there was no day but today to celebrate and decided on a wedding date a few short months away.
I went wedding dress shopping with my mom and mother in law one week after we got engaged at Luxe Redux “just for fun” to get our minds off of my grandmother’s passing. Mikaella dress #2267 was the first dress I tried on and knew it was the one instantly!!! I didn’t want take it off! I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was, I felt like a total princess. Our “just for fun” wedding dress shopping day turned into a magical day with me finding my dream dress!
Because of Covid, our guest list would small but mighty (9 of us total!) and on October 17, 2020 we tied the knot in our living room. The exact place we got engaged 5 months prior. Our brothers were our best man and man of honor. I got ready with my mom and mother in law at our house and we met the rest of the family at the Cleveland Museum of Art for first look and family portraits. We lucked out with the most beautiful fall day! We had a traditional Jewish wedding officiated by the Rabbi who Sarah was Bat Mitzvah’d by. Following the wedding we toasted champagne and had a few nibbles before going to our favorite restaurant Giovanni’s for an Italian feast! Even though Covid kept our wedding small, the love was boundless and the laughs over flowing. Our day turned out absolutely perfect and I felt like an absolute princess in my Mikaella gown
