Buffalo, New York

We were both living in New York City for a few years after college, and knew of each other through some mutual friends. However, the stars did not align until we both moved back to Buffalo within a month of each other. Those same mutual friends suggested we meet up back in our beloved hometown city. We both remember laughing for the entirety of our first date, and have been laughing ever since.

Mike planned a weekend in Niagara-On-The-Lake as a Christmas gift, and surprised me with a gorgeous, intimate proposal. We celebrated the rest of the weekend and holiday season with family and friends.

We jumped right into wedding planning, and I couldn’t wait to try on dresses. I had a vision of what I wanted, but after trying on about 100 dresses, something wasn’t clicking. I had tried on another Mikaella dress, and the plan was to use 2181 as a size comparison. But when I slipped it on, I knew there was something special – it was just the right amount of detail and uniqueness I was looking for! My mom asked “Can you picture yourself getting married in this dress?” and the tears started flowing. We knew we finally found the one!

Our wedding day was everything we had hoped for and more. We had 240 of our closest friends and family at the most gorgeous venue, The Foundry Suites, in Buffalo. It was the first gorgeous spring day, with blue skies and sun. Everything fell into place – our vendors were wonderful to work with, our choreographed first dance was a hit, the band played all the hits, the dessert table has lived on in infamy, and we couldn’t have been happier. We are so appreciative of the memories made that day, and the perfect start to our lives together.
