COUPLE’S WEDDING STORY:
We met through mutual friends and remained just friends for 6 months before we started to fall for each other. We have been best friends ever since and spend our time quoting The Office, going on trips, and teaching our cats good manners.
I found my dress from a picture on Instagram, wrote to the woman in the photo and was referred to Carrie at Clara Couture. I tried on so many other dresses but I should have saved my time, because I never really gave another dress a chance. When it came to hair, I had always wanted to wear a flower crown and no veil (much to everyone’s chagrin) and when I began to research Polish flowers (to honour Krystian’s Polish citizenship and ancestry) I found out that large, bright flower crowns are traditional for Polish brides and that made it extra fun! I worked with an amazing florist who added traditional myrtle and rosemary into my crown and flowers as an extra touch. I also used my late grandmother’s Claddaugh ring in our ring exchange as a way to honor her memory and my Irish heritage. These little details meant a lot to us, connecting our present to our past, our selves to our families.
The best choice we made was do first look photos and did private vows just the two of us with the photographers before the ceremony. Those private moments, honest words and rare tears were just ours, captured forever by our trusty and invisible photographers.
At the end of the day we wanted it to be fun, not too formal, and for it to feel like a party with all our friends and family. So much planning, so many details and so many wonderful people pitching in, the day was so joyful and exactly as we had hoped.
