Kyle moved to our home town when we were just beginning middle school. We grew up sharing many of the same classes and friends – and even played baseball and softball across the field from one another. We were friends, but didn’t stay in touch during college and eventually lost contact. It wasn’t until Kyle was in law school that we reignited a friendship and eventually began to date. It was a whirlwind two years before Kyle proposed on a trip to Napa. He surprised me by taking me to the most gorgeous, secluded home on top of a mountain with incredible views of the valley. It was there that he asked me to be his wife.

I knew I wanted to save my ‘special’ dress shopping experience for Mira Coutour in Chicago. The former owner, Mira, had actually designed bridesmaid dresses for my mother’s sister so when I moved into the building that shared space with the bridal boutique, we knew it was meant to be. I didn’t need to try on many dresses before I fell in love with my Mikaella gown. My mom cried, the Mira girls all applauded and I knew. I didn’t want to take that gown off! It was difficult waiting a year to put it back on.

After almost a year and a half, we were wed at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California in front of 60 of our closest family and friends. We were surrounded with natural beauty and love.
