Couple’s Wedding Story:
My husband and I are from the East Coast but have been living in Palo Alto, California for the last three years. After getting engaged in September, most of our wedding planning had to wait until we could both return to Virginia for the winter holidays. The dress however did not have to wait. Before we had a wedding date, a guest list, or invitations, I had a dress. A perfect dress. Unlike many of the others I tried, it did not feel like a costume. Rather, it felt brilliant: simple, elegant, timeless, with just a touch of laid-back fun.It ended up being perfect for the wedding that we planned a weekend long affair at Poplar Springs Inn in Virginia. Our family and friends traveled from across the country and world to spend Labor Day weekend with us. There were pool parties, bonfires, wish lanterns, twelve (twelve!) ring bearers and dancing… oh, so much dancing. Through it all, my dress was a statement of beauty, confidence, and happiness. In fact, my young cousin, Lilly, even declared me a “real life princess”. That’s right, folks. By the standards of an imaginative five-year-old, I was the fairest of them all. And I’m certainly the luckiest.
