With their dog, Molson, as their ring bearer, Samantha and Mark were married in beautiful St. John’s, Newfoundland. Wearing her Mikaella gown that she found at Ever After Bridal Boutique, the bride posed with her groom for pictures with her grandfather’s vintage car – the same one that brought her home from the hospital when she was born! We caught up with Samantha to hear more about her special day:

How did you know your dress was “the one”?
I wanted a lace dress since we were getting married outside at a flower farm, and I wanted a rustic and elegant look. I knew my dress was the one after I had tried on 2-3 different styles, I liked the fit and flare style but loved the lace of another Mikaella gown. When Cindy (the consultant) at Ever After Bridal Boutique heard me say what I liked about the dresses I had previously tried on, she instantly pulled Mikaella Style 1764.

When I came out of the fitting room, everyone knew this was exactly what I had envisioned in my head. With the help of the ladies at Ever After and consultation with the designer at Mikaella, we designed my custom gown by modifying to a sweetheart neckline, taking the belt from another style and replacing the chiffon flower with a flower rhinestone brooch. We added the matching fingertip veil and I was ecstatic!!

How did Mark propose?
Mark and I enjoy hiking, so on December 1, 2012 we decided to try and get in one last hike before the snow came. We decided to do one of our favorite trails, Blackhead Path, which is a 3 km hike into Blackhead point where we stopped and took shelter in an old war bunker and enjoyed a cup of tea. We hike with our boxer dog Molson, just before leaving Mark asked me to retrieve something for Molson out of the bag, when I turned bag around he was holding the ring box and said “Wanna get married?” After saying yes, and quickly removing my winter gloves to put on the ring we then had to hike back out the trail before proceeding home to tell family and friends.

What was your favourite memory from your wedding day?
The whole day was more then we could’ve ever dreamed and hoped for, but besides saying “I Do”, our favorite memories are dancing the night away with all our closests family and friends.
